Onyx Coffee Lab
Onyx Coffee Labs approached BLKBOXLabs to design a unique and fresh identity for their brand and a new line of product packaging for their whole and ground coffee beans.
"Already having been a customer and fan of their roasted coffee we embraced the opportunity to create a brand that felt alive and that people would want to be a part of. The typography and brand marks were all hand drawn to illustrate the raw craft of roasting coffee and the packaging was chosen from Pacific Bags to distinguish itself from all the other bags in the emerging craft coffee world."
Kokomo is a new connoisseur coffee company who AKU did brand development for which included naming, visual identity development and package design.
"The first retail outlet being a small café in the old fishing village of Koguva, on the Muhu island, a marine theme carries the whole identity. The wordmark was inspired by the crude lettering found on wooden fishing boats, marbled papers were used for labels and an anchor was embossed on them."
Blue Bottle's New Orleans Iced Coffee
Pearlfisher announced today a new redefined look for Blue Bottle's New Orelans Iced Coffee carton:
"Though many iced coffee brands already crowd the shelves, Blue Bottle’s offering is unique. One of the country's leading artisan roasters, Blue Bottle boasts eight cafés in and around the San Francisco area, six cafes in New York City and is served in farmers markets and restaurants nationwide. Now bringing their coffee expertise out of their cafes, Blue Bottle’s New Orleans Iced Coffee is cold brewed for 18 hours with organic roasted chicory, sweetened with organic cane sugar and cut with organic whole milk. The challenge for the brand was how to share this unique offer and extend the intimate Blue Bottle experience from carefully curated cafes to a carton, reaching a larger audience and standing out on shelves in mass retailers.
To help Blue Bottle surmount this challenge, Pearlfisher created a new design for the brand that stays true to the heart of Blue Bottle Coffee and the Founder, James Freeman’s original vision, at once challenging coffee category cues while remaining modest and utilitarian. The carton cues dairy and evokes nostalgia, helping Blue Bottle’s offer stand apart from competitors."
Static Coffee Espresso Republic
Farm Design partnered with Espresso Republic for the launch of the new Static coffee and espresso bags. Espresso Republic wanted to create premium bags that exuded the high quality of the coffee held inside. A cohesive look was established that was then applied to both the coffee and espresso bags. The final result features custom stitched tags, multiple layers of inks and varnishes on the foiled bags, and fine detailed illustrations, patterns, and type treatments throughout.
