Bath & Body Works: Breathe

BBW jars

"Flood Creative was inspired by a mood ring for the creation of the first line of mood-enhancing skin care from Bath & Body Works. to keep that idea at it’s purest, we used only color to distinguish the range of emotions. keeping the rest of the elements simple, and ultimately allowing the brand to “breathe”."

Vitula's Pickles

-2
Clever concept from Kym Abrams Design:

"This secret recipe was handed down through generations from great Auntie Vitula. Vitula's special touch was to add grape leaves from her very own backyard to each hand assembled jar of pickles. Today the pickles are hand picked each season, along the lakeside of Michigan. Each jar is still carefully hand packed, and shipped to a select group of family, friends, and customers."

Beeline Honey

Another lovely honey package! This one comes from Kym Abrams Design:

"North Lawndale Employment Network (NLEN) is a nonprofit organization that creates innovative employment initiatives in a distressed Chicago neighborhood. It was developing a line of honey products to provide training and jobs for ex-offenders, and asked Kym Abrams Design to help with naming and branding. The new line was intended to launch in upscale farmers’ markets, and, once established, move into grocery stores."

Portland General Store

Shave-soaptabac

I like to check out Etsy from time to time - they have the best handmade items. Thousands of sellers have shops that feature everything from handmade jewelry to organic body care products. Packaging is usually not a strong point for many Etsy sellers - many are just do-it-yourself folk without much branding experience.

So, when I came across Portland General Store's packaging, it was a pleasant surprise. Lisa Brodar makes a wide range of body care products ranging from skin creams to fragrances for men and women. She designed the labels herself, which is pretty impressive considering she can create the product and the look for it, too.

I've selected some of my favorites from her etsy store for men and women. Hope you like these as much as I do! I now have to go find something to sample from her shop...

Wheelhouse Pickles

WheelHouseDL_Group
I recently discovered a little-known pickle company called Wheelhouse Pickles, founded by Jon Orren of Brooklyn, NY. They make small batch, gourmet pickles. Wheelhouse's bold attitude and funky varieties make them not-your-typical pickle company. After asking them about the design, Jon wrote back to me that the branding/design was created by Michael Fusco Design. Michael was kind enough to share some photos of the packaging and background about the design. "The main goal for Wheelhouse was to emphasize the artisanal aspect of Jon's pickles.  Originally, we created the top label only so the pickles would could be 100% visible to the buyer.  Once the business expanded, and we had to include barcodes and ingredients, we decided to go for a belly band, using the colors established for each product.  In the end, the belly band really elevated the design."
