King of Pop

Pop
Concept sent in by Dieline reader and Los Angeles based artist. It is not meant to profit from or to exploit, but to honor an icon. He hopes that through The Dieline, his idea can be shared with Pepsi:

"I am excited to share this idea with the folks at Pepsi as either an art piece to compliment their vast collection within the Pepsico headquarters or as a limited edition run of cans leading up to Michael Jackson's funeral. Not as a money making idea but as a way of expressing the power of icons and the art of a big idea."

Rewind Coffee

Canisters Canisters2 Individuals Refill_packs
Designed by Australian firm Studio Bomba:

"My, how we love this brand. Rewind and Bomba go together like Paris and the springtime, like Charles and Ray Eames, like coffee and cream, even. When Rewind came to us with thoughts of bringing together premium coffee and a shared love of mid-century design, we were pretty damn quick to hop on the brand-wagon.

Designed for maximum retro-kitsch kitchen appeal whilst providing optimum storage conditions, Rewind is the result of months of design development. The canisters are food-safe, light-safe, steady-stackable in mix’n’match vintage colours, with a clever tightly-sealing lid that allows the coffee to breathe but not sweat and won’t dislodge during the thermal shrink-wrapping process or transit. Quite the design feat, really."

Kaffe

1 2 3

Designed by Felix Lobelius:

"Kaffe is a coffee shop started by 4 swedes. The handwritten charcoal aesthetic derives from the personal connection every person has with their type of coffee. This is reflected in a direct style of communication with business cards, bags, take away cups ect. personally adressing the customer."

Stiegl beer packaging by Richard Perez

I like the replication of the staircase icon within the actual label placement on the bottle in this project. Here's what Richard says about the design:

"Objective:
Update identity and packaging for one of Austria’s oldest beers for distribution in North America.
-
Description:
Introducing a beer into an already saturated market a difficult task, but when the beer brand has such a rich history it’s a little easier to distinguish it from the competition.
-
Retaining the brand's extensive elements; bold blackletter logo treatment, the staircase icon, and deep crimson red kept the familiarity within the brand. But updating and incorporating new elements such as the diagonal rising label mirrors that upward motion of the staircase logo, brings some contemporary feel to the traditional brew."

Vintage Coke Cans

These vintage coke cans come courtesy of www.inspiredology.com

I think some retro cans like these would make for a nice re-release by coke.
