Timeless Garden

This innovative product design by Francesco Castiglione Morelli & Tommaso Ceschi

"It’s always an educational experience to see what’s in store for us as far eco-friendly products go. Joining the green brigade is this Timeless Garden that looks at bringing in a green patch and clock to match your décor. Using the chemistry between mud and metal, the clock sustains itself, without craving additional toxic juices. The frame is a hitch between by two recycled plastic bodies fashioned as a pot/clock.

Indoor plant with a self-sustaining digital clock….hmmm…I’m just wondering what will be the outcome if I happen to over-water the plant. Guess that will ruin my go-green aspirations!"

I wonder if they make one with cat grass?

Kat Macleod for Bloom

(Updated!) My friend Angie pointed these beautiful Bloom Cosmetics packages (which she saw on the Lolita blog) and I was enchanted by the use of illustrations on these packages:

Facecreams

The drawings are by Australian illustrator Kat Macleod. The Bloom mark fits in well, and I find myself wondering if that was existing or if Macleod drew that too.

Bloom is an Australian-based cosmetics company started by Natalie Bloom, who worked briefly as a graphic designer! More from their website (and thank you, Patrick, for the link):

Bloom began with a couple of quirky product ideas a strong design influence and a whole lot of heart.

Bloom’s philosophy is to create innovative products made from quality ingredients. Bloom products have a playful spirit and a commitment to product integrity. Bloom products are for the young at heart.

The Bloom brand is represented by Miss Bloom. Miss Bloom embodies the spirit and personality of the Bloom brand. She’s playful and sophisticated...

A few more images after the jump.

Lotus Tealight Candleholder

Trine_lotus_tealight_wm

Paper tealight candleholder and box from Singapore's Trine design associates:

"[The tealight candleholder is] the intricate result of an experiment exploring form, material and laser production methods. Inspired by the beauty and resilience of a lotus flower blossom, the structure of the
candleholder comprises of three rings of petals.  The intricate patterns on each ring of petals features one type of traditional floral motifs found in Chinese, Arabic and Islamic art respectively.

These  three  cultures  form  the  majority  of  Singapore’s  melting  pot  of  culture  and
heritage. Symbolically, the lotus flower represents a wish for peace and hope for the
Republic nation.

Each  ring  of  petals  can  be  removed  individually  to  use  as  a  standalone  tealight
candleholder;  or  can  be  stacked  together  to  form  a  single  tealight  candleholder--which resembles a delicate blossoming lotus flower."

Petite France

Visual identity/package design by Petter Hanberger / Collaboration with Zorica Radovic.

Petite France is bakery/pastry/lunch cafe at Kungsholmen in Stockholm. They are well known in the neighborhood for high quality and a genuine passion for pastries. We found the word "meet" relevant to resume Petite France; the dough meets the baker, the costumer meets the cafe, the bread meets the costumer, France meets Sweden etc. The result was a number of patterns meeting in a Petite France patchwork.
