A good book can take you to faraway places and give you experiences you’ve never even dreamed of. When the Swedish bookstore Akademibokhandeln needed packaging for their shop and online, they turned to Garbergs_Project to develop something that would highlight the power of reading. Black and white text allow the splashes of red to truly pop, and act as the perfect canvas for contributions from authors and illustrators.
“The task was to create a brand-building packaging for the nationwide bookstore Akademibokhandeln, that included bags, wrapping paper, gift boxes and e-commerce packaging. The packaging idea is based on the theme for Akademibokhandeln’s communication concept ‘To read is to travel.’”
“We asked the people who make Akademibokhandeln’s main product—namely books’ authors and illustrators—to interpret the theme and their contributions formed the basis of the design. The design develops annually with new authors and illustrators, and is always based on Akademibokhandeln’s color scheme; black, red and white.”
