Paris really is always a good idea. Paris Baguette is a chain of bakery cafes, coffee shops, and restaurants that serve high quality pastries with French and Asian flair. They have over 3,000 stores in South Korea and over 70 in the United States. Apartment One designed the packaging for Paris Baguette’s specialty gift boxes.
“It was important for the collection of boxes to feel unified yet unique in each variation. As part of this effort, we developed four characters that embodied the wit, whimsy, charm and elegance of the brand. To bring our characters to life in pencil drawing, we enlisted the support of illustrator, Catherine Moore. The boxes showcased here are one of our proposed design directions and vary slightly from the final produced product.”
The charming designs capture a bit of the essence of France with their playful illustrations—a bear riding a car and a dog on a bicycle. The illustration style is detailed and speaks to the high quality of the pastries and foods from Paris Baguette. A thin border on the top of the box adds a bit of elegance and sophistication. While the images and text certainly feel more traditional and old-timey, a picture of the food is located at the end of the boxes. This speaks to the freshness of the cakes and also makes it nearly impossible to resist!
