“Gold bullion served as references for brand elements such as the wordmark, and the letterhead. The wordmark also takes from antique regions of San Sebastian, where heavy monograms abound. Amara’s emblem is a combination of the letter A - for Amara, and V - for the chef’s name. It’s traditional style contrasts the modern wordmark, creating an elegant yet mysterious balance.”
Indeed, the design radiates superiority while allowing for endless possibilities for their offerings, from macarons to tartes, cakes, and more. Using gold bullion as inspiration also elevates the brand, but a small part of us can’t help but think of the fun chocolate gold coins we used play with as children. Of course, Amara’s desserts are not child’s play. Boxed up in clean white packaging complete with the metallic gold lettering, each dessert is presented in a uniform way, save for the colorfully printed sticker sealing the box shut. While the brand is clearly designed for premium services, it also incorporates just the right amount of whimsy to remind us that dessert can be upscale and still be incredibly fun.
