The packaging of Mot’s Potato Chips, designed by Mara Rodríguez, premiums the
brand in a category usually dominated by softer colour palettes and finishes.
The brand essence is great: “ A luxury snack brand that produces high-quality products for your best moments”. What the packaging does is not to play the premium card for the sake of it but to visualise the hard work that goes into producing and cultivating premium potatoes -dark areas, harvested by night and fried in small batches by the producer.
Commenting on the design, Mara Rodríguez says “We used a hand made lettering that represents dynamism, happiness and crisps printed with a gold ink that mix the idea of a hand-crafted and luxury product. “
The contrast of black background and bright colours used to describe the flavours is interesting and brings great differentiation on shelf.
