Sorelle Nurzia continues its long tradition of creating deliciously decadent italian desserts. With a long history spanning almost 180 years, the packaging stays true to an old fashion aesthetic. Dense nougat is incased in long rectangular paper boxes adorned with master paintings and gold embossed lettering. The design’s formal type in congruent with Romanticism art, aims to create a fantasy world for its consumers making them feel like they just stepped back in time.
“Sorelle Nurzia was established in 1835 in Bazzano, Italy near L’Aquila. Originally the owner, Gennaro Nurzia was a highly distinguished distiller of spirits. His experiments lead him to create delicious confections. His grandson, Ulisse Nurzia, revolutionized the torrone industry with his creation of soft chocolate torrone. Up until that point torrone was only hard and crunchy.”
