Let’s face it, as designers we usually pick out wines based on their packaging regardless of its quality. Here’s a fine quality wine with an equally beautiful package design. Designed by Cornershop, this Moolanda Shattered Rock wine bottle reflects the aboriginal tribe “rock art” sites found in Barossa Valley.
The rocks have a specific effect on the soil where the Moolanda vineyards are located. Being an invaluable part of the grape growing process, it was appropriate to celebrate them on the bottle with this abstract font design inspired by shards of rock.
I especially like the single colored vibe and hand crafted typography. It provokes a premium look with an understated approach. Completing the package is a cigar band to enhance Moolanda’s finest wine, produced in limited quantities.
