Voyageur du temps is a California bakery and cafe serving hand-crafted, artisan goods. As a way to reflect the cafe’s time-honored baking methods and craftsmanship, Character designed and produced all branding elements of the cafe experience.
On the design
Inspired by the Roman numeral five on a clock at a French train station, Character devised a logo that both represented the name of the cafe while referencing tradition. This reference also acknowledged the history of the café’s location — as an old Los Altos train station.
Voyageur du Temps, which translates to time traveler in French, is casually stunning. The bread bags feature custom illustrations which make me wish this was wrapping paper. The overall branding across all product to secondary elements is understated, yet very chic. The use of patterns, material and color allows the product to stand out, while delivering a customer experience that begins as soon as you unwrap it.
