Getaway Pilsner is the 5th flagship offering by Stillwater, Minnesota’s Lift Bridge Brewing Company, and its second beer presented in a 16oz. can. The can was designed by Studio2 and produced by Rexam. The visual impact had a link to the past that the founders of the brewery appreciated. When they started Lift Bridge, it was with the intention of bringing brewing back to Stillwater and the St. Croix Valley, which had a history of brewing beer from the 1800s until Prohibition. It was important for Studio2 to be able to leverage unprinted areas and create a natural “aluminum color” to represent the sheen and reflective nature of automobile chrome. Doing so also added a depth to the illustration what would not be possible by relying on six spot colors.

Lift Bridge is all about “reflecting the St. Croix [Valley] lifestyle—a little more relaxed, a little bit of a throwback,” Lift Bridge CEO Dan Schwarz says.
