The important task in creating package design for Mein Honig was how to differentiate the types of honey Mein Honig offers while keeping the lost low. Both the designer and owner also wanted to keep the product colorless and organic.  Mein Honig is comprised with various exclusive sorts of honey, all carefully harvested and traditionally pressed on sunny hills of Upper Austria.

“I wanted to stay completely colorless & organic, and like the beekeeper, I tried just to use traditional tools for the production. I noticed that each sort differs from the other, through the clear and beautiful yellow/orange tone. So, in the design, no differentiation through colors was needed. To specify the sorts, I decided to use simple geometric shapes, which can be used as a pattern too.

Become a bee parent and join our bees throughout a whole bee year. As a bee parent, you will also receive a wooden box. It contains a certificate, a bee pass, 4 jars of honey 2 wax tea lights, 1 key ring, an access code to our bee forum and to the bee-webcam.”
