"Joya and I.T house brand, izzue, are partnering on 3 home fragrance collections, premiering this month."
The idea for the collaboration came about over coffee at Les Deux Magots in Paris. From there, 3 collections were established: “izzue in Paris Special Edition” with a black wax candle and room spray featuring reflective printing, “izzue x Joya” with black wax candle and room spray in packaging evocative of an urban street scene, and “izzue Army Line x Joya” with a room spray and a custom green porcelain candle cast by artist Sarah Cihat from a battered, antique canteen marked 1918.
The porcelain container maintains a rough appearance, with soldering lines, markings and other signs of wear left intact, including a decayed upper edge. The “Army Line” is a continuation of Joya’s 2011 Army Candle Project, which re-purposed British officer soap containers from WW2. Candles are a blend of soy, vegetable oil and beeswax. The room spray doubles as a garment, linen or upholstery spray—its contents include water, alcohol, fragrance and essential oil. It is VOC, phosphate, phthalate and dye free. All products are crafted in New York.
