Theo limited edition line features rotating seasonal products. Every chocolate bar is handcrafted by a small team of chocolatiers. The bars are hand deposited and hand wrapped in paper made from 100% post-consumer waste.
"I wanted to highlight the handmade nature of the line in the bar labels while still conveying the innovative and unique flavor profiles. I hand illustrated and lettered each of the labels. As far as process goes, I start by sketching out different type lock-ups in pencil to confirm aesthetic direction and hierarchy and see how the letters work with each other. Then, once I feel I have some solid layouts, I proceed to inking. Finally, I scan them in for digital and color cleanup.
Color choices were primarily chosen by flavor association; the warm brown color of crema for the Coffee and Cream bar, the buttery green of basil pine nut for the Basilico Pignoli bar, the ocean blue for the Fleur de Sel salt bar. The "Everything but the Bagel” bar is our take on a New York deli classic, so naturally the type was inspired by vintage deli chalkboard menus. For the Ghost Chile, the type was inspired by Mexican hand painted signs."
