Canal Grando

Wine packaging designed for Vinicola Bosco Malera with a graphic inspired by a corkscrew.

"Canal Grando is a new line of wines by the Bosco Malera Winery, specially conceived for the American palette.

The signature motif of the Venetian gondolier with its sinuous reflection can be understood as a simple visual metaphor, a play on the mechanistic form of a corkscrew. If interpreted this way, the design deftly sidesteps the traditional and clichéd image of a famous cultural landmark.

The association of uncorking with the graceful advance of a gondola is the anticipation of a certain taste sensation, of being transported somewhere else, somewhere more sublime.

Three D.O.C approved wines have been selected: a fruity and refreshing Pinot Grigio, a dry Rosé sparkling and a red that blends Merlot and Cabernet varietals. The silver and gold matte foil closures and the embossed visual on each of the wines are colour matched to round off the design."
