Hatch design, co-founded by Joel Templin and Katie Jain, is a branding design firm that has created brand identity, packaging, advertising, promotional and interactive design for a range if companies, including Apple, Benefit Cosmetics, Coca-Cola and more. But Hatch was also formed to be an incubator of ideas, with the goal of “hatching” its own brands. To that end, Hatch released JAQK Cellars, a premium wine brand dedicated to poker play, in 2008.
Those side projects, including JAKQ Cellars, are the focus of their session, Hatchlings: The Power of Developing Your Own Brands. They’ll explain why the best brands are honest, hands-on and human, and show you how they develop those types of offshoots in the idea incubator that is Hatch.
