Seascape Island Apothecary

The brand and packaging needed to reflect the ISLAND, SEA and NATURAL element of the product without that green, eco or cottage industry look and feel that so many other natural bath and body brands adopt.

Whilst all products needed to follow a consistent theme, each range needed to be distinguished by it’s own identity by the use of colour, floral imagery or both. It was essential that the packaging reflected the quality of the product and ingredients used and was as unique and intriguing as the Island it was inspired by. Part of the brief was to design something that would look good in a bathroom and be a design statement in it’s own right. The design must appeal to a wide demographic and look high end without being too aspirational or elite, it should feel like an “Everyday luxury”.

The Seahorse silhouette was chosen to represent the Sea and Island element of the brand, it’s a universally admired creature that represents intrigue and natural beauty and is relevant within a bathroom environment. When you view the Seahorse on the bottle it appears to be floating in the product, a particularly nice concept to embrace. Each range has it’s own colour palette and also a unique floral repeat pattern that appears within the seahorse silhouette and on the inside of the product cartons. These floral patterns represent the Natural element of the brand and the use of pure essential oils for fragrance. A single flower from the repeat pattern is also blind embossed on the face and lid of each carton as another point of distinction. The pump and disc top collars are UV silver plated giving a high end finish, the clear bottles are also high quality and every product is sold in a full colour carton to maximize gift purchasing.
