The Yellow World, by Albert Espinosa sports another unconventional jacket design by John Gray (gray318). The cover features nothing but a yellow circle, the back cover tells us “Trust Your Dream and They’ll Come True”.
“The book follows a line of recent iconic covers of Gray, including Zadie Smith’s NW and Jonathan Safran Foer’s Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. The cover features nothing but a round sun on its front. This is extremely rare as front covers by default state the name and author of the book. Will this affect The Yellow World’s sales? If so, negatively or positively? What kind of an effect will it have in consumers’ minds?
All the text on the cover and the headings inside the book have been handpainted. Gray created a whole new visual alphabet for the book, which is highly unconventional.”
What is the Yellow World? Albert’s Yellow World is “a way of living, of seeing life, of nourishing yourself with the lessons that you learn from good moments as well as bad ones”. The colour of the sun, it is a world that makes you happy, and a world full of discoveries, rather than rules.
