Student Spotlight: The Bitter Chocolatier

Untitled 1choc

Poking fun at himself, The Bitter Chocolatier tells his tales of misfortune throughout his life through the different flavours.

The brand has an edge. The elegant look contrasts sharply with its ironic humour. The product differentiates itself from other brands while entertaining the consumer.

Thank you to Miguel Molina a recent graduate of the IDEA program at Capilano University in Vancouver BC for submitting this to us.

I like the play on words and the witty story- but i wish the naming of the product had more relation to the product itself., like "The Break-Up" for a chocolate bar (alluding to breaking up the pieces), or bitter in relation to bitter-sweet chocolate, something a little more obvious that's hinted at. I think the story should fill in the gaps, but not become the entire story. "The White Lie" is a good example of this- the others, not so much.
