Student Spotlight: Kirkland Brand 

"As part of a project for Michael Osborne's class, students at the Academy of Arts were given the task of designing a new of of packaging for Kirkland, Costco, as well as a "house of brands" that would also be part of the Costco family" More after the jump!

 

"We wanted to create strong, cohesive packaging that would enhance the consumer shopping experience while also attracting a younger & broader consumer base."

This is gorgeous work, but I just have one small comment - club channels are almost independent of mindset than the rest of retail. In a Club environment, form will never influence function - function including distribution and costing concerns. Though this work is absolutely gorgeous, I think some of the items above do not fit Club mentality - In particular the milk jugs and the pasta and flour containers.

I love the typography on the spice jars, pasta, flour and milk. Beautiful!

Most of the coupon mom see coupons in our newspapers but it can be difficult to find coupons for exact product, for instance I always use printable coupons or "Printapons" search online to find your coupons

I'm also just a student but personally I feel like the typography is all over the place and I think they missed the mark on "cohesive." As individual projects, there is some great stuff going on, however.
