Student Spotlight: Monster Chocolate

"Monster Chocolate Co. is a conceptual line of novelty chocolate products that would ideally be found in curiosity shoppes and specialty food stores. Each product features a censored sideshow star and short bio on the rear label. Customers are invited to purchase and unwrap the outer layer to find out what’s “behind the curtain.” See what's behind the curtain after the jump.

Victorian inspired repeat patterns were personally hand illustrated and metallic gold paper offers a luxurious feeling for a truly unique, chocolate experience.

My intention is to convince patrons that these people were not monsters at all, but rather, portray them in a way that shows their beauty."

Maybe the word "Monster" is a way too strong, isn't it? How will you portray the subjects not like monsters if you use that word?

Fantastic direction in terms of typography, layout and colour. Love the P.T Barnum-esque poster feel but perhaps the semiotics of it leaves little to be desired.
