Designer Mirim Seo created Ugly Fruit as a way to respond to costly and unnecessary waste created by bruised and discolored fruit being thrown out. As many of these fruits and vegetables are perfectly fresh and edible, Ugly Fruit set out to create juice, jams, and dried fruits out of unattractive produce donated from neighborhood grocery stores. The design approach is amusing and sustainable, featuring cute fruit personas bearing bruises, and the "reuse it" call to action.

Oatly is a sustainable Swedish manufacturer of oat-based vegan foods and drinks. In order to deliver brand attributes on a limited budget, Forsman & Bodenfors developed a packaging system that would act as part advertising space, calling out brand attributes and benefits on pack. With such a "clean" product, the packaging reflects Oatly's commitment to health and sustainability by maintaining a straight-forward approach, perfectly captured with the tagline, Havredryck, which is Swedish for "oat drink."
Mexican agency, BOLD UNIT, designed a family of salsas inspired by the country's vibrant Salsa music genre. In order to bridge this concept, the name Tumbao was chosen as an ode to the "zestful rhythm" commonly found in Salsa music, with each variety of Salsas Tumbao (Habanera, Tatemada and Chile Piquín) paired with a corresponding song. As the design is centered around celebration, the logo mark appropriately features a silhouetted brass instrument.
Legend Distilling Handmade Gin & Vodka
As a means to deliver “something new and fresh” to the wine tour market of British Columbia, Also Known As: Design Studio was hired by craft-based Legend Distilling to strategize their initial product release of hand-made vodka and gin. The result is this nontraditional design which has custom illustrations by a local tattoo artist, and are meant to highlight the “legends” on each bottle.
