Student Spotlight: Forge Premium Tools

"Assignment: Research and define a problem with current packaging within a chosen market. Determine a line of products, develop a brand identity, and five package designs that vary in scale.
Having to define a problem with current packaging, I landed on developing a line of hand tools because of the way in which hand tools are conventionally packaged; either in a clam shell, or using labels with no protective packaging at all.
I designed five original package forms for the brand so I could be in full control of the way the tools were protected. The visual aesthetic was inspired by the utilitarian-esque/rugged but yet mixed friendly, "modern" and commercial design of the 1950's era."
Designed by Ross Palumb, a student at the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York
