"This brand new collection created by Johnnie Walker Blue Label in collaboration with Porsche Design Studio features three fine objects and two limited edition—the first for the Duty Free market and the second for bars.
The first, “The Chiller”, houses a precious 75cl bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label.
The second, called «The Cube» features a 75cl bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label, four crystal glasses and brushed stainless steel ice tongs engraved with the words ‘Striding Man’. A luminous version is also available for prestigious bars, hotels and restaurants.
For the travelling kind, the ‘Mini Cube’ will be available in Duty Free outlets. This version features a 75cl bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label, two crystal glasses and the brushed stainless steel tongs engraved with ‘Striding Man’.
Thanks to its expertise in multi-material luxury packaging, Cosfibel was entrusted to create these exceptional pieces. Detailed leatherwork covers the plastic-injected cases with PU. With a minute attention to detail, leatherwork stitching runs the length of the cases to highlight the actuators that trigger the cases’ opening. Their discretion and refinement is also reflected in the placement of the Porsche Design Studio signature. Through embossing, a simple brushed metal plaque features the Porsche Design Studio logo cast in PU. The case’s modern design is reinforced by the stainless-steel cap which was first soldered in order to show the sharp angles before being micro-brushed, silkscreen decorated for the Johnnie Walker Blue Label brand and lasered for the JWS monogram. The inside of the caps, which feature double frosted injected plastic, double as an ice bucket.
A system of batteries linked to LED lights allows the luminous version to stay lit for 12 hours.
A private bar made to order
The most fortunate clients can treat themselves to one of the 18 ‘Private Bars’ available the world over on special order. The bar measures 220cm X 66cm X 66cm and features two bottles of Johnnie Walker Blue Label 75 cl., a 1.5 liter magnum, eight crystal glasses of which five are beside a carafe and a crystal ice bucket in a refrigerated compartment. For this ‘Private Bar’, worth £100,000, Porsche Design Studio used only the finest of materials: leather, tinted mirrors and Australian wood for the first time in an interior design. This complex and refined unique piece also comes from its automatic opening system controlled by sensorial detection. Diageo Reserve in collaboration with Porsche Design Studio entrusted Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau GmbH (DWH), a specialist in fitting out luxury yachts, with the conception and creation of this innovative and futuristic ‘Private Bar’."
