Looks like incompetent registration.

How many customers walk around in 3D glasses?

The previous poster needs to learn some online manners. No need to be so harsh.

I think he has a good point about not having 3D glasses at the ready but we are all familiar enough with 3D now (it is everywhere) to know it's 3D and not bad registration.

The effect it has on me is to make me feel a little seasick and perhaps a bit drunk-- all perfectly appropriate responses, given the brand, and a much more visceral response than most of the other liquor packaging I've seen, which is all trying to be the same variety of elegant (snore).

Bravely done.

Same sentiment here as C's.
And to top that, I really wouldn't be bothered to put a bottle on a table and admire its 3D design. Nor would I ask my little kids to do it. Last thing I want to happen is for them to associate bottle of alcohol with "happy fun time".
It's a good idea, wrong media.

I'm sure when they made this, the creative brief revolved around making this "happy fun time" for children. Yes, I'm most certain that's what it pertained to.

I think it's a fun design and I also see it as a witty poke at all of the non-sensical 3D work out there. Kracken is obviously not lacking in the design and identity category of the market. I hope this encourages other retailers to take more risks like this with their packaging. This will make all of our jobs more entertaining.

I think it looks beautiful. I don't get the 3d bit, I don't think it matters. It just feels right because of the contract between the miss-registered image that looks like it's from a printed plate from an old book and the sharp panel holding the product title.

I presume it's yet another great job from Stranger & Stranger?
