Grafica Della Strada by Louise Fili
The moment we met Louise Fili we found ourselves inspired by her over-and-over. Whether it was watching her speak at a Dieline conference, or her recommending the best restaurants in Venice or where to grab gelato in Florence, one thing is for sure, Louise knows Italy like no one else!
Grafica Della Strada is Louise Fili's typographic love letter to Italy: a photographic diary of a forty year obsessions with signs from Torino to Taormina, and just about everywhere else in between - in gold leaf, mosaic, marble, brass, ceramic, enamel, wrought iron, and neon.

AC/DC Backtracks Deluxe Collector's Edition
"The exterior box is designed to resemble a vintage AC/DC guitar amp – complete with the original logo that was spray-painted onto the rear of Angus and Malcolm’s speaker cabinets in 1975. The “head” of the amp has a handle that lifts the top off to reveal the contents housed within. Oh yeah, the head is also a WORKING GUITAR AMPLIFIER! That’s right, one watt of pure AC/DC makes this box a truly unique collector’s item. You can PLAY the box set while LISTENING TO the box set! Check out the videos of Angus using the amp.
The box, which includes 3 CDs and 2 DVDs of ACDC rare tracks, recordings and videos, also includes a 12" LP, numerous memorabilia reproductions as well as a 164-page hard bound book containing rare and unseen photos spanning 1974-2009 plus full-size re-prints of original press releases, tour itineraries, tour books, test pressing labels, advertisements and much more. A real history of the band from the inside out. Rare photography includes never-before-seen shots of the band recording at the Albert Music studio on King Street in Sydney with legendary producers Harry Vanda and George Young in 1977. Also tons of unpublished live shots from all over the world."
Designed by Phil Yarnall of SMAY DESIGN over a 2 year period. Check out the back of the box after the jump!
Designer Spotlight: Jessica Hische
Lots of beautiful packaging designed by Jessica Hische, mostly while working at Louise Fili:
"Jessica Hische is a typographer and illustrator working in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from Tyler School of Art with a degree in Graphic Design, she worked for Headcase Design in Philadelphia before taking a position as Senior Designer at Louise Fili Ltd. While working for Louise, she continued developing her freelance career, working for clients such as Tiffany & Co., Chronicle Books, and The New York Times. In September of 2009, after two and a half years of little sleep and a lot of hand-lettering, she left Louise Fili to pursue her freelance career further. Jessica has been featured in most major design and illustration publications including Communication Arts, Print Magazine, How Magazine, The Graphis Design Annual, American Illustration and the Society of Illustrators. She was featured as one of Step Magazine’s 25 Emerging Artists, Communication Arts “Fresh”, Print Magazine’s New Visual Artists 2009 (commonly referred to as Print’s 20 under 30), and The Art Directors Club Young Guns."
