Veuve Clicquot Fridge

1

Once again, Veuve Clicquot trusts Denis Boudard of QSLD Paris, to create its new giftbox: The Veuve Clicquot Fridge. Check it out below.

"Ten years ago, Veuve Clicquot was revolutionizing the champagne consumption with its Clicquot Icebox. This box allowed savoring one’s favorite vintage at the ideal temperature. From then on, Veuve Clicquot chose to rethink every year its coolbox collection, in order to offer freedom to consume champagne anytime anywhere.

The Veuve Clicquot Fridge has been thought to keep Brut Yellow Label fresh for up to 2h. It is handy, forward-looking and aesthetically appealing. It underlines the brand’s search for excellence and unique vision about innovation always combined with the finest champagnes.

'We wanted to create an explicit case of which the cooling function » can be immediately identified by the customer that is why we chose to represent a fridge. The modernity and the nomadism offered by « Veuve Clicquot Fridge are entirely consistent with the DNA of the Champagne House. It preserves brand’s codes and values and conciliates practicality with esthetism' said the designer Denis Boudard."

Nothing like trivializing the brand into the icon of trailer dwellers everywhere...

I doubt the price point will help break into that particular demographic, though.

If they lost the handle, I think I'd like it. Trying to make it look like a fridge turns it into such a cheap-looking novelty.

Also, I'd like to see them spend a little more time and attention to the cheap fake-gold foil bottle topper.

I think it is fun and retro way of show casing Veuve. I doubt you will have to worry about it catching on with trailer parks. After all, it still isn't white zin in a box :)
