Flaming Heart

The latest project from Stranger & Stranger is Flaming Heart: "Flaming Heart is a peaty Scotch whisky and we wanted to get smoking peatiness onto the label."

I can see what Stranger are trying to do, but the result is too dense and noisy and lacking contrast. From even just a little distance it all becomes a bit of a blur. Their recent design for Rialto beer has a similar problem...

The separate company name label looks like a discordant afterthought.

Also, in the engraved illustration, the heart doesn't really appear to be flaming :(

Keisinger... are you referring to the flaming, or sacred, heart symbol as a contemporary symbol? That's quite a historic symbol, not at all contemporary.

I think this packaging is quite lovely in its intensive detail. I assume that the intention of the designer is to pull the viewer into the imagery with intricacy. Just one humble opinion, but I see a very elegant design.
