The brand extension is interesting and poses many valuable questions about the nature of luxury, consumption and art. I think the comps are pretty poor though and someone really needs to think about the typesetting of the copy blocks (ugh!) Talk about rivers... no thought given to total execution of the package.

i agree with the comment above, sloppy work and i wonder what the
Andy Warhol Foundation would think of this?

Well done for the kudos theft.

"... an exclusive collection ..."

Exclusive in what way ?

"... pays tribute to Andy Warhol ..."

How, exactly, does this pay tribute ?

And why is Warhol's signature on the box? Did he collaborate from beyond the grave.

Assuming this a conceptual student project, and not an actual product, don't think the Andy Warhol Foundation will mind too much.

And while I'm not swayed by the breathless gushing about "tributes" etc., I do think this carton--with the multi-colored bottle illustrations in each corner--that combine to form whole bottles when stacked in a row--is pretty cool.

Yes, there are some typesetting rivers, but eye-catching and attractive ought to count for something too.

I really like it, it looks very good.
Good to see Dom Perignon pushing things out there as always.

Interesting to read some of the responses here...I'm assuming that most people know whats up since the launch happened a few weeks ago, but just in case...the whole deal is, Warhol was a fan of Dom (or so the story goes)...so him and a couple of equally quirky guys decided in 81 (IIRC) that they would buy 2000 bottles of Dom and lock them away till the year 2000...so I guess this story finds it's way to somebody at LVMH, and they decided to release a small amount of the 2000 vintage in collaboration with the Warhol foundation in this special packaging...
