Here! Sod T Shirt Packaging

1
"T-shirt design and packing that takes design cues from food and packing found in supermarkets." Check out this fun and creative concept by Prompt Design after the jump!

"Here! Sod created a new line of t-shirts that are sold in simple &distinctive packaging that resemble the packaging of food found in gourmet supermarkets. Each shirt is sold in packaging that resembles different forms of packaging. For example, a 'pork' t-shirt is sold in the Styrofoam deli packaging used in the butcher's section of a supermarket. All the t-shirts in the product line are uniquely packaged to make their products more eye-catching and to create a fun&novel shopping experiences for consumers.

The unique packaging created instant brand recognition amongst consumers which generated large volumes of word-of-mouth advertising."

I love how the packaging and product depend on each other for the complete message. Still, the packaging remains low-cost and simple, and the product is fun and interesting after it's removed from the package - I'd actually wear those shirts!

Thanks Richard! Lots of people worked on this. It was a collaboration between Prompt Design's graphics and packaging teams. Currently the best way to get them is by emailing heresod@prompt-design.com.

Cute idea, but I wouldn't want to actually wear any of them. I guess that's not the point though is it?

I like it!

This design although clever, doesn't help the sales process. Ultimately the product has to meet the buyers' expectations from a merchandising standpoint and its ability to sell off the shelves. This does neither. Once again, clever design but impractical.

I love the packaging and how they closely relate to each other, but the t-shirts on their own look a bit weak.... as if they were designed to look good in their packaging....

fun idea. and while i DO enjoy this line (i want to be clear about that). I'm originally from thailand, as far as constructive criticism goes it bothers me ever so slightly that its a pretty straight copy of the Tesco Lotus logo. I get that its supposed to be a generic supermarket thing, but i don't think you needed to rip their strip band to do it so closely. And also, the styrofoam for the meat shirt has GOT TO GO. overall though, really fun little collection that's been put together.
