Student Spotlight: Fuego

1

Stephanie Hughes designed this hot sauce line as her final project at the University of Washington, where she just graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design. Check out the project below.

"Fuego Hot Sauce is an authentic & engaging way to spice up your dishes. Each blend has a different heat level and flavor that pairs with a variety of food. The Fuego Heat Guide and Recipe book explains the background of each pepper and suggests recipes that correspond with each unique flavor level on the Scoville Heat Scale. I wanted to evoke the authentic feel of the sauces and showcase their natural colors and flavors. By giving the product a sturdy bottle and hearty labeling system, people can feel confident using the product and know exactly what level they use according to their color and scaling system."

This hits a chord with me as I also did a hot sauce concept in School. completely different treatment, but I love this one. Excellent thought on the sample vial. Just all around great stuff.

Very nice. I see subtle hints of Blossa glögg, but still original.

This is fantastic. The best salsas/hot sauces are always home made, and that is exactly how this packaging feels to me.

I love it!

Beautiful work. Fuego (if that's a real company) should definitely grab this concept and make it their own before someone else does!

Fuego is a real company — that makes grills. However, this is a bit of a miss as far as there ultra clean style goes.
