Student Spotlight: Allie Looney
Three projects by Allie Looney a recent graduate of Syracuse University's communication design program:
Vim is a break from your typical over caffeinated and sugar loaded 4pm pick me up. Infusing water with
natural flavors and vitamins this drink has the ability to not only help with your afternoon slump but
also cure the common cold. Stop in to Vim and customize a drink that suits your needs.
Everyone knows it can be hard to be a kid, but kids with developmental and learning disabilities have
an even harder time. Scientific research has proven that certain diets can help a child's focus and
learning behaviors. Kidease lunches utilize this research to provide children with healthy lunches that
can make their lives a lot easier."
Drinking beer is one of America's favorite past times. Wouldn't it be nice if you could save a tree with
every beer you drink? Bare Beer is an eco-friendly, regional beer company. With bio-degradable
packaging, regional distribution, and innovative brewing techniques. This company is saving the
world one beer at a time."
Student Spotlight: Meg Eaton
Two beautiful concepts designed by Meg Eaton, a recent graduate of the Communications Design program at Syracuse University:
"Chumbi is the solution to bland and boring flavors of ice cream like vanilla or butter pecan. Chumbi offers a variety of unique flavor combinations for adventurous eaters like garlic mojito, tomato parmigiano or black cherry zucchini. The quirky design is reflective of the balancing act of unusual flavors and the colorful elephant acts kind of like a bizarre mascot.
Mambajamba is a new kind of animal cracker that pairs two fun flavors together. Cinnamon & Honey, Caramel & Vanilla or Original & Pink frosted are a few of the varieties. The cookies are packaged in two separate compartments that flip backwards to reveal a pop-up animal. The packaging also aims to educate kids about different species of animals. The different eyes on the front of each box as well as the fun facts on left side of the box act as hints to indicate which animal will pop-up on the inside!"
Student Spotlight: Jared Welle
Jared Welle, is recent graphic design graduate of Brainco: The Minneapolis School of Advertising, Design, and Interactive Studies, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He sends in two of his latest projects, Kayon and Minnetonka Moccasins. Descriptions of each and many more images, after the jump.
Student Spotlight: Alice Clair
Alice Clair is a recent graduate of the IDEA program at Capilano University and currently lives in Vancouver where she is a freelance artist. Jay's Chips was completed while she was a student:
"An environmentally friendly design for potato chip packaging. By having a removable label with colourful patterns underneath, consumers can re-use the container after eating the chips."
More after the jump.
Student Spotlight: Lucy Hargrave
"Designed in collaboration with Josh Tatarynowicz, these packages were for a handmade goats milk soap company. We created four intricate Mandala patterns based on the natural ingredients used in each soap flavour; like peppermint leaves, rose petals & lemon slices. The patterns are laser cut out of card and allow for the soap to be smelt through the packaging."
More images and one more project after the jump.
