Great article on Design Related discussing Chiquita's latest brand refresh with Art Director DJ Neff:

"Chiquita's latest ad campaign imbues its audience with an instant sense of wonder. Using playful illustrations on stickers juxtaposed to the iconic Chiquita stickers, the product and brand become more engaging to the consumer—plus they just look cool. We got a chance to ask the Art Director, DJ Neff, some questions about the process of making bananas (even more) fun."

Many more images of the new promotion after the jump.

This is absolutely the coolest thing to happen to bananas since banana bread... You can't hate on this what so ever, makes food (healthy fruit) fun, appealing to kids, and best of all carries a huge brand impact all within a one inch circle.. I am a hugh fan of this entire campaign, enjoy the website as well.

Wow! I'm amazed by it. First I thought "why would someone want that?", two seconds later I saw a face I had to have it. And I'm already 21, so imagine what kids will say? "Mom, I want that banana with those funny faces!". It is really a great branding game and as Jay said, "makes food (healthy fruit) fun, appealing to kids". I just loved it.

Makes we wanna buy bananas and stick the stickers all over my fridge. I want the Jason mask one, but I suppose I can see why its only an outtake.

Actually maybe I'll just go to the grocery store and steal all the stickers off the bananas instead, lol. Take that Chiquita!

OMG! Thanks for confirming the different visuals they've been using on the stickers for the bananas for me!

I only became aware of the company and this apparent re-branding through the stickers on the bananas (I'm not from the U.S.) but because of my interest in design, the Monkey face sticker caught my eye, on hand of bananas at the supermarket, several weeks ago. I subsequently went to the Chiquita site to find out the less obvious link between the ape faced sticker and the branding of the bananas.

The unfortunately the Chiquita site does not have the array of sticker images you posted, so thank you very much for showing how versatile the re-branding is!
