Cognac Fleur de Lis

1033251265735282

Designer: Arthur Schreiber

Objective:

To develop a cognac for a female audience - an elegant, modern form,
different from other cognacs on the market, with a vivid and
memorable name. The design must be traced the origin of the product
and its target audience.

Solution:

Femininity is characterized as the name and the elegance of lines and shapes. Vertical and continuously on the three planes of bottles and boxes is a script typographical representation of the legend about the origin of the symbol of France's FLEUR DE LIS.
Using a non-typical type of cognac capping is convenient and
also practical - the overall design clearly distinguishes the product from other cognacs in the marketplace.

I love the design, very minimalistic and feminine.I would be interested in learning how it would be produced, the bottle has a very sleek and complex curve on the bottom, and the decoration seems to go all the way to the base, Im thinking screen printed? Is it in production or a mockup?

The bottle is very nice, an unusual and very elegant design - but that is not what is important - it is what is in the bottle that the customer is drinking which is the most important thing unless, of course, you only ever judge a book by its cover... It is disappointing to note that the human species is so easily won over by packaging and hardly ever considers the contents; the fact that nothing is said about the contents above gives further weight to this argument.

Ummm... it's a design blog, not a product review.

People usually relate the packaging to the product. The higher quality of packaging the higher quality of the product might be. People aren't just completely won over by the packaging, there might be a lot of thought in it and the price is a factor too. Though how do you know a product is good unless you buy it, the packaging has to be ascetically pleasing or other wise people aren't going to look at it. Wouldn't you choose a nicer package over one that is super cheap and doesn't catch the eye?
