Student Spotlight: Sarah Cespedes

"The packaging for Heart, Mind, and Body vitamins was created by Sarah Cespedes during her senior year in the graphic design program at Oregon State University". More after the jump.

"Heart, Mind, and Body vitamins are geared towards people who are interested in natural supplements. The packaging is slightly transparent in order to highlight the beauty of the natural products. The products are in liquid form for people who don’t want to spend their days taking a lot of pills. The patterns on the labels abstractly reflect the different systems of the body that the particular vitamin benefits. The color palette is soothing and pleasant which gives the user a feeling of ease and assurance that the supplements they’re taking are pure and natural."

The thin font on top of the pattern makes it a little tough to read.

why is it that the nutritional tags hang from the bottle neck as opposed to being placed directly on the back of the bottle? I believe it's against federal regulations to have the nutrition off of the primary packaging in this instance. As well the execution seems a bit tacky and poorly executed...you can even see the black outlines which weren't cut away at the top of the tags.

I assume thats double stick tape that you can see on all four corners behind the labels, use Super 77 next time. I know its hard to get hand made mock ups to look perfect, but I would definitely photoshop out things like the tape and any dieline remnants.

Thanks everyone for the helpful feedback! I'll take this in to account for a possible redesign.

don't herbs, essential oils and omega-3's need to be in darker glass? i believe daylight corrupts this kind of content.
