Work sent in by Jon Patterson, a designer in San Francisco and a student at the Academy of Art:

"This is a conceptual glassware package for Riedel's line of Grappa glassware. The object was to appeal to more wine drinkers by introducing them to Grappa. The typical “wine-connoseir” is prone to trying new style of wine. Grappa is the complete essence of the grape itself. Grappa seems to be a lifestyle drink; catered to a select group of wine enthusiates and sophisticates.

The outcome should be of clarity; following inspiration from the clear liquid and it's organic shape when poured. It is a simple drink, so there must be a balance of simplicity and clarity of the package. The actual packaging was created to take up no more space when open than it does when closed. It is also semifinalist in the Adobe Design Achievement Awards this year."
