Before & After: Help Remedies

Before:

Headache_highres-2

After:

All products

Help Remedies has just relaunched their packaging. They have added new 'remedies', and along came a need to better differentiate the varieties:

"Help is a new brand of over-the-counter healthcare products. Our mission is to make solving simple health issues simple. We find the best solution there is, and take away everything else. By stripping away some of the complexity and fear mongering of the health industry, we hope to make the category friendlier and more accessible, and in doing so empower people to make their own health decisions.

Help Remedies first two products “Help I have a headache” and “help I’ve cut myself” launched in April 2008. They generated significant press attention from design, eco, lifestyle, business and media as well as sales both online and through selected retailers.

Our packaging is made of molded paper pulp and a bio plastic made primarily of corn. We use these materials because they are interesting to look at, and they are compostable—which means one day, they might become part of a large tree. Maybe you can cut down that tree and make it into a speedboat.

ChappsMalina did structure and form, Little Fury did the graphics and our own internal team worked on bring those ideas to life in the final package."

Several more images of this fantastic design after the jump.

Wow! What a great concept and execution!

Those are cute and I like how they tell you exactly what you should take them for. Though just wondering what the back looks like, do they have instruction regarding the products?

WOW fantastic website as well, made me laugh quite a bit.

Especially when I made all the products on the homepage match and it proceeded to link me to an obsessive compulsive help website.

I love these! I just bought a whole set of them online.

I'd like to see what the back looks like.

i am completely smitten by the website: http://www.helpineedhelp.com/

interesting, interactive. they even have an ethics section!

oh yeah the packaging--my only concern is having a pill that just says "help" and "h" on it, doesn't seem safe. i don't know why exactly... but it's like here take this little pill without having any idea what it is, which could be dangerous... am i being paranoid?

This is amazingly well done!!!

I wish there was an "help, I can't stop crapping" pill. That's the only kind I buy, and it seems the obvious oversight. But, the packaging is great--it seems it gets harder and harder to find the dosage on new packaging, and this solves it!

I was thinking the exact same thing. I really hate taking pills that aren't labeled in some way, even if I just removed it from the packaging.

Love these, I never can remember the technical names for pills. I go by the the white one, the pink one...haha! These are simple and well designed.

They also have an article on the pills and they have a picture of the back of one of the medications. I like that the brand has a sense of humor!

definitely beautifully designed, but not sure how much I'd trust no-name medications for allergies or insomnia

Is this serious?

I REALLY DON'T LIKE IT

The design looks nice, but it implies self-medication is harmless, and it is a very serious problem. There are no magic 'remedies', these products are chemical substances with side effects and toxicity when used in excess.

Medicine is not simple, it should not be made to appear so, otherwise why not just cut the middle man and have people popping pills on their own until they drop.

Acetaminophen OD kills lots of people in the US, here's an article I can recommend (click my name)http://distractible.org/2009/07/01/tylenol-can-kill/

I love it!! They are friendly and the communication is clear. I wonder what the back looks like though, where is the medical information?

Sometimes truth...

I thought it was a campaign to raise awareness of medication abuse and self-cutting.

That it actually is a commercial product just makes it more amazing.

There should be one saying "help i'm bored - 2 xtc tablets".

Wow just interest to see medical stuffs also being branded. This is just too cool.

Yeah looks great - doesn't follow a lot of fda guidelines for mandatory copy

yeah it looks great - it doesn't follow the fda guidelines for copy and typesize requirements

I love this as a concept. If it could just be FDA approved and legal, I'd totally buy it. as a stage manager, I feel it'd be uber convenient!!!

it's great.simple and feeling.i like it.

This is really great. The simplicity is really refreshing. The eco-friendly packaging is exciting. Just wish we could see what one looks like open!
July 28, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJenna
This is one of the most exciting packaging concepts I've ever seen. Almost perfect. Almost - I'm not quite sure if the color concept always "fits". I'd choose ... cut myself = red | aching body = purple | indigestion = yellowgreen (former: cut)

This reminds me of the movie Idiocracy..... except that their concept was made with simple images.
