Quattro, Cinco, Neuf
New work from Victor Fong, a Visual Communications/Designed Objects student from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC):
"I was given the names of the wine, Quattro, Cinco, and Neuf. One of my main goals was to come up with a distinctive way of conveying the numbers without using the ordinary numerals. After trying with multi-sided shapes and stars and other similar types of symbols, the tally marks was the best in conveying the numbers as it provides a sense of customization and familiarity while still giving a modern and sophisticated feel, especially since the symbols are in silver on the black background. The small icons and the counter-filled names gives it a distinct look. The combination of horizontal and vertical texts tie together nicely between the bottle neck label and the label on the back of the wine, and providing at different positions as the lable could be placed standing up straight or on its side on a wine rack."
