Gotta Moo

Picture 29 Picture 31

Gotta Moo is the graduation work from recent graduate Narani Kannan, from OCAD (Ontario College of Art & Design). Here is a small rationale on her project:

Gotta Moo focuses on the most eco-friendly method for milk packaging. This greener milk packaging solution would be made out of Sugarcane Bagasse molded pulp paper, coated inside with sugarcane lignin and printed with vegetable based inks, all based on food safe materials. Bagasse is an annually renewable plant resource and is compostable and recyclable. This can replace plastic and plastic coated packaging, which is currently used in the food/beverage industry today. This packaging solution does not rely on oil extraction and it also minimizes green house gas emissions. This new molded pulp milk packaging solution could be an eco-friendly vision of the future.

This is quite a comprehensive review on Gotta Moo that focuses on the most eco-friendly method for milk packaging. Indeed milk needs to be packed most safely as it is consumed by children and adult alike. :)

Admittedly attractive and well constructed, though somewhat conflicting considering dairy farming -- in general -- is not particularly eco-friendly.

True about dairy farming, but the package concept is a step towards the right direction. Lovely design and great process!
