Taylor Pemberton, a student at SCAD created this packaging:

"Debonair Cigars and Tobacco are designed with a focus on the early 1900's. Stay confident, stylish, and charming."

See a few more after the jump.

here is my biggest issue with this packaging... cigar folks won't be into it at all. until hipsters take up cigar smoking this is a fail in my book.

I partly agree with you Jeremy, but I still think this is a job well done. A huge part of package design is the target audience, but why not change what a cigar box looks like? This is a fun and original twist on a product that has been using a Victorian aesthetic for over a hundred years. New and progressive, sure to be noticed against the others.

I'm sorry Taylor, but I have to agree with Jeremy. While your execution is spot-on and the concept is creative, I don't think it will be well received by the market. I applaud your bravery to work against the grain but ultimately on the market, I don't think this product would be very successful.

The most lovely example of cancer product packaging I've seen in ages. Love the design, wish they were chocolates!

A fail, really?

That's a bit harsh, in it's own right I think this design is eye catching and rather original. And if you haven't already noticed, hipsters are already donning fedoras and smoking cigars. So I guess this guy's got a market.

This guy was in my class, actually. The pictures make it look classier than it was presented.maybe he redid it before the pictures were taken.

I am 100% agree with Lori Magno. Nice example of cancer packed in the nice packets. Lovely packing but ciggar smoking is really very dangerous for health.
