Student Spotlight: Yair Golan

Yair Golan studied graphic design at Shenkar School of Design, in Israel between 2004-2008 and sent in this project done during that time. It features four flavors of yogurt and 2 kinds of milk:

"I chose to design a dairy that contrary to the ongoing trend of how to lose calories and think healthy, my dairy puts the crave for milk/yogurt as it's main  theme. The product I think should make you just want to grab it of the shelve and eat it right there and then. The dairy's name is 'OD' which means MORE in Hebrew."

gross. seriously - is the package made to look like the product is leaking? nasty.

The "leaking" product would either really turn someone off or on. Moreso, looking at the production value of it, shelving and just general organization of a product such as that with the part sticking out at the base would be awkward.

my mind may be in the gutter, but i immediately thought it was leaking semen.

i prefer package design that doesn't always stick to conventions. Its daring and shows a degree of creativity that stands out from a regular bottle form. Agreed, some people may see it as 'not appropriate' or it wouldn't fit on a shelf properly. But, in my opinion its better to produce work that is daring over work that is dull.

The white, leaking blob is offputting, and the package would not be practical to produce, ship, or stock in stores. Form follows function!

It's hard to take a stand on this, I do love it when designers try to think outside of the box and be more creative when it comes to designing bottles. However, in my opinion, I don't think this design works, expensive to produce and hard to stock in stores (which is very important).

Yes I thought the same, it is not very functional and expensive, but very creative
