Madonna "Hits" CD

We think Adam Larson of Adam&Co. creates some pretty cool packaging. Apparently others do, too; he was one of a handful of artists invited to present concepts for Madonna's forthcoming Greatest Hits album entitled "Hits," due out September. The project evolved in a different direction but we thought this packaging deserved to see the light of day in some form or fashion!

A couple more after the jump.

If only I could work on huge budgets for album packaging. Very cool stuff.

WOW indeed!

whats with the smashed-up brokenness? i don't get the reasoning behind that at all. doesn't seem to go with the look of the interior (or exterior) for that matter.

too bad her career cant be revived with cool packaging...

I think it's in reference to it being a greatest "Hits" album... like the outer case is smashed up from being hit.

she looks like an awful parody of herself in the main photo. im not sure if its bad surgery or bad retouching but either way...eeeek

well, i mean, it's more about live performances these days. highest money maker last year was her, but she had surprisingly bad sales of her CD world wide.

I refuse to buy cds that aren't in regular packaging. They're totally annoying and get scruffy looking quickly. Simple is always better.

i get the ‘hits‘ - i just think its being too literal; and takes what could be beautiful (ie: the inside panels) and makes it appear cheap and trite.

awful parody of herself? do u read what u write? Doesn't seem so lol

Hmmm, I'm not sure I agree. When you're buying a CD to keep as a collector's item, the packaging should feel worth the price. Name one instance in Madonna's musical career when she followed the mantra "Simple is always better"?

Revived??? I dont call having the worlds largest selling single and album last year in Europe and North America last year being in need of revival or to mention she just had the largest grossing tour by a solo artist of all time......get real! Jealous.

It's obviously a fold-out from a square cd case. The cross shape is formed after it's completely unfolded.

good work but no no and no, this is not madonna's style.

So tacky, outdated and unoriginal design...

BITTER BITCHES....ALL OF YOU...MY GOD....IT'S JUST A CD COVER..BTW...THEY APPEAR TO BE GUN SHOTS!LIKE "HITS"...I LIKE THAT IDEA!

uma bosta . não gostei de nenhum .

I like the concept, the hits on the case almost represent her critics then you slide the perfect package out of the case....

Good Bless the Queen of the universe. The title is great because it transcends time and genre or charts. If something resonates with Madonna admirers, it doesn’t really matter whether it was bigger on the dance floor, radio or sales, because they are all channels with which Madonna songs reach their audiences. Until now, all Madonna singles as well as some of the songs that were not even released as singles, became great hits. For example Beat Goes On and Candy Shop are dance floor hits without even being released as a single. Give It To Me, sold nearly 3 million copies world wide a quarter of which in the US alone, it became number 1 on the dance charts and managed to reach the middle of hot 100 charts in the US. It also became number 1 on the euro chart(a 400000000 plus market).

Far too much airbrushing, she looks better without being made to look plastic, she's not Cher!!

LOVE the artwork samples on the song sleeves. love big budget madonna! The name "Hits" has to go though -- too generic ....like REO Speedwagon, etc or someone. And Queen of the Universe is lame, we all know that already. We should be surprised in some way now by the title. :)
