Tracks Presentation2 Tracks Presentation Pos_small2

AIAIAI is a Denmark based headphone company with some pretty cool packaging (and products!). More shots after the jump.

Not only are their products well designed, but I own a pair of the Y-COM Earphones and they sounds fantastic. Love AIAIAI.

This company is really up to something. I just bought a pair of their new Tracks Headsets and also have their Y-com Grey. Although I really like my Y-coms, I tend to have problems fitting them perfectly to my ears. The Tracks are super simple in the design, but still quite intelligent in the way you adjust them to your head. And the sound is amazing in these headphones. Can't wait to get my hands on their up-coming DJ Headphones....

The look and feel of the packaging seems very trendy to me and not suited to last in the long term. It seems that they would have to change their look often to keep up with the latest and greatest push. However, having said that, I think that this product is super targeted to a young market and would be appropriate in edging out a competitor that focuses their products on a much broader level.

Martin Merida makes a very valid point, but I think this might just be a part of their strategy - to keep changing with the times as their edgier target market does. I think they've allowed some legroom for themselves for future designs: the clear tubing and unique name is already very identifiable, so I would see them updating with different coloured clear tubes, illustrations and graphics printed on the tubes. They've done well in standing out in order to be current, as well as providing a canvas for themselves for future expressions.

Martin Merida - You say it like it's a bad thing.

Yes, my yellow Y-Model earphones are no longer available in my color, and they are constantly changing product materials and designs. But why would they stick with the same things, when it's probably more market savvy and simply more fun to change things around?

AIAIAI is really setting a precedent for form + function's coexistence in the audio and electronic world. Moreso, I think, than even Bang+Olufsen as far as really reaching a mainstream market.

It's not like they're sacrificing quality, either; they recently posted this video (http://www.vimeo.com/6625174) showing the rigorous durability testing their earphones go through. And, in my opinion, they sound great too.

I cannot wait for the DJ to finally hit the market.
