There's something warm, friendly and homey about the branding and packaging of Jeni's Ice Creams by Elementville. The simple, handwritten logo using the apostrophe as the dot of the 'i', and the simple, bold colours make the product feel authentic and tasty to me, and it reinforces the concept of "handmade in our kitchen."
Stiegl beer packaging by Richard Perez
Update identity and packaging for one of Austria’s oldest beers for distribution in North America.
Introducing a beer into an already saturated market a difficult task, but when the beer brand has such a rich history it’s a little easier to distinguish it from the competition.
Retaining the brand's extensive elements; bold blackletter logo treatment, the staircase icon, and deep crimson red kept the familiarity within the brand. Hefti Jeunesse is a line of Swiss ice cream with packaging designed for the Japanese market by Helvetica. The top and body of each package are decorated with simple, one color graphics, different for each flavor of the ice cream. The rim, in a shade of old gold, with a brushed-off finish, adds distinction to the whole series.
I was alerted to Aquapax through the Daily Heller. Unlike Heller, I have great issue with the outpouring (sorry, had to do it) of water packaging. In the past few years, working on new water brands started to seem tantamount to working on cigarettes; I started to feel like it was irresponsible.
Häagen-Dazs five™ Ice Cream
Häagen-Dazs five ice creams feature the cleanest, most minimal layout ever for Häagen-Dazs ice creams. A fresh, white palette was used with a crisp photo of the flavor and a large 'five'. The back-to-basics look makes even more sense when you consider the product's premise: ice cream made with just five ingredients: milk, cream, sugar, eggs + the flavor ingredient. Häagen-Dazs five™ is available in seven flavors: ginger, mint, brown sugar, vanilla, passion fruit, milk chocolate and coffee. Yum.
L Donatellé Tea
L Donatellé is a packaging concept for a line of family-owned, premium teas.
"For the packaging, I wanted to represent the delicate nature of tea-leaves through the subtle use of ornamentation, while focusing on color to convey the essence of both varieties. I chose a simple, soft palette for L Donatellé Rose White Tea in order to showcase its floral notes, and a bold dark palette to highlight the rich bergamot present in the Earl Grey."
