Coca Cola 2009 holiday ornament bottles

P1060522-watermarked

On Saturday I noticed these adorable ornament-shaped bottles of Coke, Sprite, and Diet Coke at Walmart. Unfortunately I couldn't find any information on them. I believe similar bottles were produced in 2008, but if anyone knows more about this promotional design, please let me know.

You can purchase them at Walmart (I can't guarantee all locations) or you can order a couple of the Coke versions online (here and here). Some crafty people also blogged about turning them into lighted ornaments -- after drinking them empty, of course!

Continue reading for Sprite and Diet Coke images. (I would have taken more pictures if I'd known I wouldn't find anything online...)

I think I might do a coke Christmas tree if I was not a huge Pepsi fan. Sounds fun... though, I think they should have made it easier for the consumer with a hanging device of some kind. Perhaps the cap could have a plastic loop to put a hook in it.

Yes, these bottles are exclusive to Walmart. There are 4 different designs for the bottle for 2009. Polar Bear & Santa for Coca-Cola Classic, Christmas Trees for the Sprite Bottle, & Snowflake for the Diet Coke Bottle. These are sold for $1.00 each in most Walmart locations.

these bottles were sold in Argentina at the last Soccer world cup, but the motive was a football ball.

I'm fairly certain that the modern Santa Claus was actually designed by Coca Cola.Rudolph is a creation of Macy's, I believe. Most Christmas characters are the creation of some sort of corporate advertising.

These are awesome! I want one sooo bad. I went to my wal mart the other day to look for them and couldn't find them. Does anyone know what isle or location they're at in the store?

I like them! They're cute and festive and I'm a sucker for all things Christmas. They'd be really cute for a party. I don't need a lot of soda anyway, so these look like a good size for me.

They were in the center of one of the main walkways in a specially designed cardboard "bin" (I use that word loosely since it was as tall as my chest). In other words they weren't shelved with drinks or holiday items. Maybe you could ask an employee?

I just found some in my Neighborhood Walmart here in Arlington, Texas. They weren't in an aisle, but were on the endcap on a shelf near the checkout.
