Samuel Adams Barrel Room Collection

SamAdams_BRC_series

The Boston Brewing Company, makers of Samuel Adams, have debuted a new collection of beers entitled the Barrel Room Collection. The collection features newly-designed packaging from Boston-based Adam&Co.

While the collection initially contains only three varieties, Samuel Adams plans to introduce more in time. Therefore, the challenge set for Adam&Co was in how to design packaging that could be extended to a range of products, and tie together all of them in a series.

The solution is in a color-based branding system, with bands around the neck of each bottle and panels on the main label. The mostly-monochrome packaging artwork is a departure from Samuel Adams's usual style, but appropriate for the limited edition of 750 mL "cork finished" bottles.

Those readers interested in the beer behind the story should read the article on The Beer Spot which discusses the brews themselves in greater detail. The press release from Samuel Adams itself (himself?) may also be worth a read.

Previous work from Adam&Co includes packaging for Azul Real and Madonna's "Hits" CD, both featured on this site.

I am sorry but I think these bottles look like mens' aftershave or cologne or something. Kind of wierd IMO.
