This doesn't work for me. For one, it won't fit in my cupboard very cleanly, and second, it seems to busy for me. I'm the type that likes to read the cereal box while I eat, and this just seems to make that task a burden. Also, I don't think using the cereal box lid as a measuring device adds much value. I wouldn't see myself pouring to the "line" for a lower calorie pour. Just my 2 cents.

I wonder if the limited shelf space allotted to cereals in markets was considered in his design. It does not seem that you would be able to fit many of these on a standard shelf, certainly less than the average rectangular cereal box. Therefore you run the risk of missing sales between restocks assuming that the shelves are restocked only once, maybe twice, a day in most markets. The packaging is certainly novel enough to get a customer's attention, but that requires the customer to actually have access to the product.

Granted this is just conjecture based on the photo without knowing the actual dimensions.

I, for one, totally love that the lid serves as a portion-measuring / portion-control device!

I also like the creative shape. I'm a very hands-on person so I can't speak to shelving issue (in stores) without holding these things and playing around with them, but frankly I'd be fine with a "weird" shaped box like this in my home.

I agree that this odd shape wasn't necessary to make a statement. I also agree that the shape could create stocking issues in the store, and at home. However, I do like the portion control device. I don't think I'd use it at all. But, I could see some crazy moms living by it. I think that the "portion device" (or lid) by itself is enough to be revolutionary. I think someone could make a lot of money doing a regular box with a lid (aka portion control device). I'm with you on reading the box while you eat.

Is it just me or does the lid remind you of a Coffin top? Definitely wouldn't want my cereal portions to say: "EAT or DIE, lady!"

I like the fact that you can measure with the lid too, and I like the interesting box shape, but I wonder if it's easy to poor with one hand? And as a consumer who buys Kashi products regularly, the brand is totally lost, I'd walk right by it! Maybe if the package was white and the logo was green?
