Student Spotlight: Yair Golan

Yair Golan studied graphic design at Shenkar School of Design, in Israel between 2004-2008 and sent in this project done during that time. It features four flavors of yogurt and 2 kinds of milk:

"I chose to design a dairy that contrary to the ongoing trend of how to lose calories and think healthy, my dairy puts the crave for milk/yogurt as it's main  theme. The product I think should make you just want to grab it of the shelve and eat it right there and then. The dairy's name is 'OD' which means MORE in Hebrew."

 

Blowfly Wine

Gareth Trickey, the owner of this particular wine, sent this in to us with some rather interesting thoughts on the packaging from the client side. Rhodes Wingrove in Australia did the design.

Whole Living Votives

Christy Carroll sent in this packaging for Whole Living's votives. She is a packaging and promotions designer at Whole Foods Market's global headquarters in Austin, TX and is behind some of the new product packaging I've been seeing on Whole Food's shelves.

Student Spotlight: Brian Swarthout

 
 Brian Swarthout will be graduating from the University of Akron, Myers School of Art in May. He sent in this identity and package design for Joyne condoms:

"Current condom branding aimed at a male audience, bursts with flashy visuals eliminating tact and grace. Joyne, a line of premium quality condoms, presents the consumer with a more permissible and elegant product with no need to be hidden. Although the rigid packaging uses more material, durability and ease of transport are increased".

Brand Spotlight: Shatto Milk Company

 

 

 

We've posted about Shatto Milk Company before (here), but thought we'd post some recent images that were sent to us. Again, the design is done by Sullivan Higdon & Sink.

Nice Nose

Fresh work from Robot-food, a promising new agency concentrating on packaging:

"Robot-food was tasked to produce a new boutique label for a series of high-end wines from the RPB Winery in The Mendoza region of Argentina.

The aim was to appeal to a new younger generation of full-bodied red wine lovers. The team managed this through direct descriptions, combined with unique illustration to set the brand apart and compliment each wine’s distinct character.

Each single grape wine has a subtly unique flavour and has been limited to less than 1000 cases."

Student Spotlight: Sean Maisch

Sean will be graduating from SCAD in May. He sent in this project for Gatsby Moving Rubber Hair wax and a very thorough explanation which we've included with a couple more photos after the jump.
