During a recent trip to Zagreb, I found a family of croatian product with a simple but appealing image: the use of the black label conveys information about the product itself and create a format which can be applied to bottles as well as pvc boxes or carton ones. The idea is really very effective and the use of pvc instead of full carton boxes gives space to the real product, without using photos or illustration.
This project, by the Croatian design studio Laboratorium is also the winner of the Red Dot award for communication design in 2007. The idea behind the pack is to communicate the tastes, scents and aromas of the city of Dubrovnik as well as feel of the life in the regions sorrounding the city.
